At Brick House Home Inspection we strive to exceed every clients expectations.  Your experience with Brick House will be professional, thorough and friendly. 

A typical home inspection takes 2-3 hours to complete, and clients are encouraged to attend.  During the home inspection we will look at all of the installed systems and components of the home, including (at minimum):

EXTERIOR: Vegetation, grading, drainage, retaining walls, walkways, patios, driveways, exterior doors.  Attached decks, balconies, steps, porches and railings.

STRUCTURAL:  Foundation, walls, crawlspaces, crawlspace ventilation.

ROOFING: Roof system, flashings, roof drainage, skylights.

INTERIOR:  Windows, interior doors, walls, ceilings, floors, steps, stairways, railings, range/oven, microwave, dishwasher, sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, etc.

PLUMBING:  Supply and distribution systems, main shutoff location, water heater(s), drain/waste/vent systems, drainage sumps, sump pumps and related piping.

ELECTRICAL: Service entrance, main disconnects, main panel, sub-panels, service grounding, branch wiring, GFCI/AFCI overcurrent protection, light fixtures, switches and receptacles.

HEATING:  Fuel delivery system, heating equipment, combustion vent systems.

COOLING:  Central A/C, permanent through-wall individual cooling systems.

INSULATION & VENTILATION:  Insulation in unfinished spaces, attic ventilation, mechanical ventilation systems.

GARAGE:  Automatic door opener safety devices, CO2 & fire resistance.

Fireplaces and solid fuel burning appliances, chimneys and combustion vents.  (Interiors of chimneys/vents that are not visible are not included).

The home inspection is a visual, non-destructive examination.  It is not meant to be technically exhaustive.  It is intended to report on the overall condition of the home, and recommend a courses of action if needed.  Recommendations will be made during the inspection as well as useful information and maintenance tips.

Within 24 hours of the inspection, you will receive a thorough Home Inspection Report, in narrative format, with photos.


Brick House LLC adheres to the New Jersey Home Inspection Standards of Practice, and the InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.  The Standards of Practice outline the items the are to be included and excluded in the inspection report.  It is important that clients have realistic expectations and understand what is included in their inspection.
