Questions and Answers

When does the  Home Inspection Take Place?

In New Jersey, when you submit an offer to buy the house through your attorney, the Attorney Review process begins. After the seller agrees, you are then out of Attorney Review and you typically have 10-14 days to complete inspections.  Now it's time to schedule your home inspection. We welcome you to call and tentatively schedule once you enter review.

How long does a Home Inspection Take?

A typical inspection is 2 to 3 hours. We allow for more time in our schedule, if needed, so you will never be rushed.

Should we be present for the Inspection?

We encourage you to attend. We like to explain our findings at the home and answer questions.  Seeing defects with your own eyes is the best way to understand the severity of a problem.
If you can not be present we can do a phone review.

What impacts the cost of the Inspection?

Location, age and size of the home, outbuildings/structures impact pricing.  Brick House prides themselves at pricing competitively and fairly.

What inspections as a buyer or seller am I responsible for?

In NJ, the seller typically is responsible for water quality testing due to the New Jersey Private Well Testing Act
The buyer does all other inspections (Home, Radon, Wood Destroying Insect, Septic, etc.)

Can I ask questions and contact you after the inspection?

Questions are welcome during the inspection or anytime.  Brick House will always make time to speak to you about any inspection concerns.
